March For More is about uniting our voices to fight for More Money to make Better Schools for Stronger Students. Stand up, and let’s march! Join us in sending a loud message that Virginia needs more state funding for K-12 education.


10:00AM Rally at MLK Jr. Middle School (Located at 1000 Mosby Street, Richmond, VA)

11:00AM March to State Capitol Begins (Walk Across MLK Jr. Bridge and Turn Left at 9th Street)

12:00PM Speeches Begin on Capitol Steps (Located at 1000 Bank Street, Richmond, VA)

There will be limited parking at MLK Jr. Middle School and on the street near the school. If you are planning to drive to the March For More, you are encouraged to park in one of the locations listed below. Parking will be free and free shuttles will run from the designated parking areas to MLK Jr. Middle School. At the conclusion of the March, shuttles will run from Capitol Square back to MLK Jr. Middle School. Because the designated parking lots below are only three blocks from Capitol Square, shuttles will not run from Capitol Square back to the designated lots.

There will be parking hubs in four areas of the city with shuttles to pickup March For More participants at each location. Shuttles will depart from each hub at 9:15 A.M. and bring participants to the march kickoff at MLK Jr. Middle School. Once the march is over, shuttles will run from Capitol Square back to the hub locations listed below.



Southside:

Shuttles will be lined up along 9th Street following the March For More. Shuttles will depart for either MLK Jr. Middle School or the five hub locations listed above 15 minutes after the last speaker at the Capitol Square rally.

The GRTC buses will be running on Saturday, Dec. 8th and MLK Jr. Middle School is on GRTC Route 5 (Cary/Main/Whitcomb). To return to MLK Jr. Middle School after the March, the GRTC bus stop is on 9th and Cary. Click here to plan your trip to the March For More with GRTC.
